Group Clinical Consultation · Fall 2026
You're doing good work. You're also doing most of it alone.
A small virtual consultation group for therapists and students — three Tuesday evenings this fall, five people, real cases, and hours that count toward your CRPO supervision requirements.
Some of this will sound familiar.
You finished a session, closed the laptop, and had no idea whether you'd handled the most important moment in it well.
There's a client you think about on the drive home more often than you'd say out loud.
You've trained in four modalities and you still can't explain your personal approach.
You've sat in supervision that felt like reporting. Filing an update. Not thinking together and growing your skills.
You have colleagues you like, but nobody who really knows your caseload.
You're completing your supervision hours but have been looking for a container that will deepen your skills and up level the service you offer.
None of that means you're a weak clinician. It means you're an under-consulted one.
Therapy is one of the only professions where the hardest part of the work happens in a room nobody else is in.
We debrief the crisis calls. We rarely debrief the ordinary sessions — the ones where something small went sideways and we're still turning it over three weeks later.
Good consultation isn't oversight. It's the room where you get to think out loud, be genuinely uncertain, and come back to your caseload with something you didn't have on Monday.
That's what this group is for.
Group supervision for therapists, kept deliberately small
Five participants. Three sessions. Two hours each, on Zoom, on a Tuesday evening when the day's clients are done.
Each session, you're welcome to bring a case: one you're stuck on, one that's going well or one that's activating something in you. You're encouraged to come with questions about specific therapy techniques and interventions you'd like to learn more about or practice through role-play. You're equally welcome to come and listen. Observing is a legitimate way to use the group, and nobody will be put on the spot.
What happens in the room
Case consultation with Katie and four colleagues working across different modalities and populations
Conceptualization support — the "big picture" view when you're deep in the weeds of a case
Space to look at how culture, gender, and social context are shaping the work, and shaping your read of it
Self-care and reflection for clinicians. Tune in to your inner wisdom and reactions as data to deepen your practice and shed light on your blind spots.
Peer connections with clinicians who will become your community in a field that can feel isolating and competitive.
Clinician skill-building and deepening: practicing new therapy interventions through experiential learning.
What you'll take back to your caseload
Language for the case you couldn't explain
A working conceptualization for at least one client you've been carrying without a clear frame.
Interventions you hadn't considered
Four other clinicians in the room means four other sets of training. You will leave with options.
A clearer read on your own reactions
Where your responses are serving the work, and where they're quietly steering it.
Movement toward your own style
Not Katie's way of working. Yours — named, and made more deliberate.
Colleagues who know your practice
A small group that keeps going after the third session, in our experience.
Six hours toward your CRPO requirements
Documented, and counted.
Is this the right room for you?
This is likely a fit if you are
A registered psychotherapist wanting regular consultation without a full 1:1 commitment
A qualifying practitioner accruing CRPO hours
A Yorkville University student meeting supervision requirements
A seasoned clinician who misses thinking alongside other people
Someone who works well when they're one of five, not one of twenty
This may not be the fit if
You need weekly supervision on a specific active file — 1:1 will serve you better, and we offer that too
You're looking for a training or certification program — this is consultation, not curriculum
You can't commit to all three dates, since the value of a group this small depends on the same five people showing up

Meet your supervisor
Katie Koruna, MA, RP
I support individual clients and families with therapeutic work as well as providing clinical supervision to students and clinicians seeking CRPO hours or skill building. I bring an eclectic approach to the people I work with—because no two journeys are the same. I believe in meeting both clients and supervisees where they are, with flexibility, curiosity, and care.
My supervision focuses on the whole client, their mind, body, emotions and support systems as well as the wellness of the supervisee. I bring an emotion focused, trauma informed lens that integrates both skilful interventions as well as broader, 'big picture' conceptualizations. One of my unique points of interest is supporting clinicians to find their personal style within the work, believing fully that rapport and relationship are an essential vehicle in this work. Who you are as a clinician and a person matters to those you support.
I define my clinical style and personality as lovingly direct, humorous and connected.
Depending on your unique needs, I draw from EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused CBT for children, and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). I have also facilitated group therapy for children and teens living with anxiety, as well as critical incident debriefings after acute traumatic events. I strive to create a safe, affirming space for connection, comfort and healing to unfold.
A meaningful part of my practice involves psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. I deeply believe in the healing potential of these medicines when approached with safety, integrity, and reverence. I've completed training through TheraPsil to help eligible clients gain legal access to psilocybin or MDMA through Health Canada's Special Access Program.
Beyond my clinical work, I'm a mother, a partner and nature lover. I love a laugh, a cup of coffee and a comfy pair of sweatpants! I'm also deeply committed to giving back to my local community here in York Region, and spend time volunteering with community meal programs supporting those in need.
When I'm not in the therapy room, you'll likely find me camping, cycling, reading, or spending quality time with the people I love.

Some clinicians want the group. Some want a room where the whole hour is about their caseload. Some want both, and use 1:1 to go deeper on what came up in the group.
Katie offers 1:1 supervision to qualified clinicians, students, and those working toward registration with the CRPO. The focus is the whole client — their mind, body, emotions and support systems — as well as the wellness of the supervisee, with an emotion-focused, trauma-informed lens that integrates skilful interventions and broader "big picture" conceptualizations.

Questions clinicians usually ask
Do these hours count toward my CRPO requirements?
Yes. Katie is registered and recognized as a clinical supervisor through the CRPO. Requirements do vary by registration category and where you are in your process, so it's always worth confirming the specifics against your own file.
I'm a Yorkville student. Does this meet my program's requirements?
Katie formally meets Yorkville University's supervisor criteria. Check the hour requirements for your particular practicum with your program.
Do I have to present a case?
No. You're encouraged to, and most people find it's where the value is — but attending as an observer is a real and legitimate way to use the group.
What if I can't make one of the three dates?
The group is built on the same five people meeting three times, so we ask for a commitment to all three. If you know in advance you'll miss one, reach out before registering and we'll talk it through.
Is this the same as clinical supervision, or is it consultation?
Both words get used. Practically: it's group supervision, it counts toward your CRPO hours, and the atmosphere is collegial consultation rather than oversight.
Do I need to work at HRC?
No. This is open to clinicians and students anywhere in Ontario.
Do I need to specialize in trauma or work in the same modalities as Katie?
No. The mix is the point — a group of five clinicians with different training is what makes the room useful.
What happens after the three sessions?
2027 dates are being scheduled. Many groups choose to continue together.
Students: We also offer practicum placements at HRC. One spot remains for January 2027.
