Anxious Girl
Social
A monthly social event for the anxious girlies ready to make friends and have fun.
These events are geared towards women 20+.
About Anxious Girl Social Club
Anxious Girl Social Club is the not-for-profit arm of Healing Recovery Centre. Once a month, fifteen to thirty-five women get together somewhere in Newmarket or the surrounding area and do something fun, whether it be vision board making, bracelet making in a lavender field, game night, or an epic pool party. Basically your Pinterest vision board for girls night coming to life.
Most women come alone. That takes more courage than it sounds like, and it's also completely normal here. Every night is built so nobody has to hover awkwardly at the edge of a room: there's a hands-on activity, structured social time, and then unstructured time with food and conversation once the ice has broken.
Our women are in their twenties through their fifties. Many are going through life transitions. Looking for more meaningful friendships. Just women who want to have fun, with good people in a low pressure setting.
We're not trying to be your friendship group. We're trying to be the room where it starts.

One Year Celebration
Wednesday November 11 · 6:30–10:30 PM · Madison Greenhouse, Newmarket
Ten women came to the first one. There are fifty spots at this one.
of AGS
Anxious Girl Social started with an idea "Wouldn't it be nice if we could host events every month for women to come together, make friends, build confidence and have fun with no financial barrier"
As Morgan started to build out the new home for Healing Recovery Centre, this idea and dream started to feel a little more possible. So one month after opening her doors to her new clinic space, she put out a post inspired by conversations with so many clients struggling to find ways and places to make new friends.
Her goal was 3 to 5 women. Our first event was making your own tea blend, and 10 women showed up.
Then each month after that the room grew bigger and bigger, and the magic grew. We've had amazing businesses like Market Candle Company, Sha Sha Skin Care, Meanwhile Farms, Sandy Costa Fitness, Lo & Co, and The Giving Place collaborate with us to bring some truly epic events.
Now, nearly a year later, all of our monthly events sell out, and our numbers each month are between 20 - 35 women, depending on the space capacity.
So, for the ONE YEAR of Anxious Girl Social, we knew we had to do something epic! If you know Morgan (the founder of Anxious Girl Social and Healing Recovery Centre) you know that a good dinner and a dance party is one of her favourite things to do and share with the people she loves. So what better way to celebrate a year of women showing up for themselves, anxious and all, than with a truly epic dinner and dance party night.
Morgan has so many amazing things in store for you for this evening! We only have 50 spots and this event will sell out. Cannot wait to celebrate with you all, even if this is your first time coming to an Anxious Girl Social!

Morgan Weatherup, RSW, MSW
Founder, Healing Recovery Centre & Anxious Girl Social Club
A year ago this was an idea I couldn't stop thinking about, and I told myself that if three or five women came it would be enough. Ten came to that first one, and it has grown every single month since.
I built it because I kept sitting with women who were lonely and had nowhere to go, and somewhere in the middle of that I ended up with a community too. It has had as much of an impact on my life as it has on anyone's.
This night is a celebration for all of us, for every time you showed up anxious, for every time you came alone, for every time you started a conversation with somebody new, for every time you showed up for yourself even when your anxiety made it so hard.
For how far you've come. And all the life you still have ahead of you to live.
If you've never been to Anxious Girl Social, this is the one to start with. If you've been before, mark your calendar. There's genuinely no better way to do this than a bougie dinner and an all girls dance party, in my opinion.
I cannot wait to see you.

Holiday Gathering
Date, time and venue to be determined
A holiday-themed party to close out the year. We're still finalising the date, the venue and what we're doing — it'll be here as soon as it's set.
Details coming soon
Help us put on the night
Anxious Girl Social Club is the not-for-profit arm of Healing Recovery Centre. We don't make money on these nights, and when a night costs more than we raise, Healing Recovery Centre covers the difference.
November is the biggest thing we've attempted, and it's the first time in a year of monthly events that we've asked anyone for support.
We're raising $6,500 to cover the cost of the evening. What we raise is what makes it possible to keep tickets free or discounted for the women who need that, which is the entire point of how we do this.
- ✨Your logo on the promotional materials for the night
- ✨A feature on our Instagram and a mention in the Healing Recovery Centre newsletter
- ✨Your business name and any products you'd like on the sponsor table
- ✨A public thank you from the microphone on the night, naming what you made possible
Tell us how you'd like to help
One form covers all four. Fill it in and we'll be in touch to talk about what would actually work for your business.
A note on the tax side: Anxious Girl Social Club is a not-for-profit arm of Healing Recovery Centre, not a registered charity, so we can't issue charitable donation receipts. We do provide a receipt for your contribution, and most businesses treat community sponsorship as a marketing or community expense. Your accountant can confirm what's right for you.
If you're reading this and quietly deciding you'll come to the next one instead — this is the next one.
You don't need to know anyone. You don't need to be good at the activity. You don't need to explain what you paid.
Come as you are. 🤍
