Take Your Healing Journey DEEPER

Explore evidence-based psychedelic therapy in a safe and supportive environment.

If you’ve been on a healing journey for a while, you’ve likely tried a variety of traditional therapies.

While these approaches may have helped uncover key insights into your emotions, behaviours, and past experiences, you may feel like you’ve reached a glass ceiling in your progress. If this is the case, you’re not alone.

Healing Recovery Centre was built on the belief that you deserve more than one way to heal. This is why we offer several alternative pathways to self-reflection, self-discovery, and transformation, which now includes our legal Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Program. Curious about whether psychedelic therapy is right for you?

Psychedelic Therapy for Your Mental Health and Wellness

In accordance with Health Canada’s Special Access Program (SAP) and supported by TheraPsil, our program at York Region Psychedelics offers a legal avenue to access clinical Psilocybin and MDMA treatment in support of your deepest healing.

Research shows that when introduced in a safe and supportive environment, these medicines have the potential to effectively treat individuals experiencing trauma, PTSD, treatment-resistant depression, end-of-life distress, OCD, Eating Disorders, and other mental health concerns.

Through our York Region Psychedelics program at Healing Recovery Centre, we provide our clients with a safe, loving, and trauma-informed therapeutic setting to explore their innermost landscapes while being deeply supported by a team of highly skilled, specialized clinicians.

Exploring expanded states of consciousness through psychedelic medicines allows us to dive deep into the subconscious; offering opportunities to illuminate the roots of suffering that create our self-limiting beliefs, challenging emotions, and unhealthy patterns. Through the assistance of psychedelics in a therapeutic setting, we can access memories, emotions, beliefs, and understandings that may be unavailable to us otherwise. For many, these experiences provide the keys to unlocking the pathway back home to ourselves.

Receive IN-DEPTH SUPPORT through Each Stage of Your Experience

Allow our skilled and specialized support team to guide you every step of the way.

Evidence from the phase two and three trials of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy demonstrates profound potential for change. Our program follows the protocols outlined by MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) to allow for optimized and safe participant experiences. This approach is emotion-based, trauma-informed, and incorporates harm reduction principles.

Throughout the program, you’ll work closely with a highly experienced preparation and integration support team to optimize your experience and ensure your safety. The team includes: highly trained and specialized therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, and spiritual practitioners. This is in addition to TheraPsil’s specialists, pharmacists, and legal support team.

Positioning the logs for the fire.

Preparation

Positioning the logs for the fire.

Before your psychedelic experience, we engage in a comprehensive preparation process. For a minimum of three sessions, you and your psychedelic-assisted therapist will set intentions, discuss relevant history, explore tools to help you navigate psychedelic experiences, and build a trusting relationship to lay a solid foundation for your journey. Together, we’ll create a safe and supportive container that invites you to approach this experience with clarity and confidence.

Experience (Dose Day)

The spark that starts the fire.

During your Psilocybin or MDMA-assisted therapy session —”the dose” — you will be supported by two psychedelic-assisted therapy guides (one of whom will be your therapist from your preparation sessions). Your guides will hold space while you navigate your inner world, including any emotions, thoughts, and sensations that may arise. You will be supported with love and compassion while being offered the skills and tools to deepen your experience. This level of personalized support allows you to fully immerse yourself in the process and experience deep healing for body, heart, mind and soul.

Your guides stay with you through the entire session (approximately 5-8 hours) to ensure you are never alone, safe, and fully cared for. Many describe this experience as the care they never realized they needed.

Integration

Maintaining the warmth from the flames.

Lasting change is rooted in the integration phase. Integration is our meaning-making process, where insights from your session can be woven into your everyday life. Our brains are the most flexible roughly 30 days post-psychedelic medicine. This is where new patterns and neuropathways are built and deepened to protect and expand the healing you experienced within the dose. Our integration process is a minimum of three sessions within a short time frame of your dosing experience and includes a variety of options to personalize your process.

Meet Your Guides

Hi, we’re Morgan and Katie, trained psychedelic-assisted therapists through TheraPsil and founders of York Region Psychedelics at Healing Recovery Centre.

The psychedelic therapy program we’ve developed is deeply rooted in a commitment to reducing human suffering and creating a better world. A world where people are truly at home with themselves – where they feel deeply connected to their bodies, to nature, to their wider communities, and to an enhanced quality of life.

The first step toward the world we envision lies in healing ourselves. As facilitators, it is our sacred responsibility to humbly approach this medicine with respect and integrity, so you can experience the depth of healing and personal growth that may be available to you.

We recognize your choice to embark on this experience with us is one step in a larger, lifelong process of healing. Our hope is to contribute to your journey by holding space and ensuring you feel empowered with the tools and resources you need to navigate this transformative process with confidence.

Join Our Commitment Towards Accessible Mental Health Care

Here at Healing Recovery Centre, we firmly believe that access to transformative and potentially life-saving mental care shouldn’t be limited to those in positions of privilege. As part of our commitment to enhancing the human experience and shifting the mental healthcare landscape for the better, we are advocating and making every effort to find ways to increase the financial accessibility of legal psychedelic-assisted therapy for all in need.

If you share our mission of making groundbreaking mental healthcare more accessible, we’d be honoured if you donated to our cause.

We acknowledge the land in which we do this work is located on the traditional territories of the wendat, Haudeno-saunee, and the Anishinaabe peoples and the treaty land of the Williams Treaties First Nations and other Indigenous peoples whose presence here continues to this day.  We also acknowledge the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation as our close neighbours.

We acknowledge all the wisdom keepers and the medicine men and women who have come before us, who have used these medicines to bring good into this world, and who have passed down their wisdom to be available to us as we join towards collective healing and consciousness. We acknowledge all of our teachers and their teachers who have had an impact on the practitioners that we are today and will continue to be in this world.

We specifically acknowledge María Sabina, a medicine woman from the Mazatec Indigenous community in Mexico, for her significant contributions and sacrifice, which resulted in sharing the healing power of magic mushrooms with the Western world.
