![morgan-about](https://healingrecoverycentre.ca/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/morgan-about.jpg)
I’m Morgan, the Founder and Clinical Director of Healing Recovery Centre.
As a kid, I—along with many people I cared for—struggled with mental health concerns. It seemed as though no matter where we turned, adequate support was too far out of reach, or quite honestly, didn’t exist. That’s the reason why I began my career as a therapist working within the hospital and community mental health system.
Unfortunately, it was far too often that I saw individuals and their families not getting the support they desperately needed due to public service limitations, and leaving the system no better (or worse off) than before.
As I grew to see the potential of approaching healing differently, I made it my mission to provide a space for people—no matter where they are in their recovery journey—to have a place to go to receive meaningful support, find self-belief again, and reconnect with their path of healing.
Healing Recovery Centre was built upon trauma-informed, evidence-based, and inclusive care pillars. Our services are available to you no matter your age, gender, shape, race, sexuality or size.
You belong here.
![about-group](https://healingrecoverycentre.ca/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/about-group.jpg)
And your path towards healing doesn’t have to end with traditional therapy…
The well-being of both your mind and body can be strengthened with the support of integrative, holistic healing modalities.
From there, I traveled to Costa Rica, to explore alternative healing methods beyond what I had ever experienced as a therapist. I participated in plant medicine and breathwork ceremonies, which allowed me to access deeper parts of myself—illuminating my stuck points and helping me better understand my own struggles with food, trauma, and self-image.
Breathwork allowed me to finally feel and release what I had been holding onto for so long, leading to a state of total clarity and profound transformation. That’s when I had a vision for the future of Healing Recovery Centre.
I was determined to learn how to facilitate this transformative mind-body practice and bring it home to our clients—offering them a powerful way to explore themselves and gain deeper insights into their challenges.
My experiences with alternative medicine and non-ordinary states of consciousness changed how I saw the world of modern mental health care. The way in which we approach treatment today places more emphasis on managing symptoms, rather than taking care of people and uncovering the root of their pain.
That’s why, alongside traditional therapy, our skilled and compassionate team at Healing Recovery Centre offers you a wide range of holistic healing modalities that address you as a whole person.

Megan Firth, RD, MPH
Registered Dietitian
I’m Megan Firth, an anti-diet registered dietitian with over a decade of experience studying and practicing dietetics. I’m passionate about dismantling diet culture and guiding clients on their journey to heal their relationship with food. I support individuals and families of all ages, shapes and sizes to pursue eating disorder recovery by sharing knowledge about the impact of stress, mood, and diet culture on our ability to nourish ourselves, debunking nutrition myths, as well as addressing digestion challenges and nutrition complications of eating disorders.
During the early stages of recovery I will empower caregivers to build meal support skills, as well as create meal plans designed to renourish the body, challenge food rules, and fuel movement. Clients who are further along their journey will be guided to learn to honour their hunger cues, nourish their body unconditionally and make peace with food using the principles of intuitive eating. My intention is to leave clients and their families feeling confident, supported, and equipped to do the hard work of recovery.
