Therapy for Children and Teens
Therapy for Couples and Families
Therapy for Adults
Sometimes the hardest part is knowing where to start.
Whether you or your loved one is navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or simply carrying a weight you can’t name, there is a place for you here.
You don’t need a referral or diagnosis in order to work with us. Our clinical team supports kids, teens, adults, couples, families, and parents across a range of mental health concerns—always with a trauma-informed, relational approach that treats the whole person, not just the symptoms.
Psychotherapy
Therapy works best when you feel genuinely met, and when the work goes beyond just talking. Our trauma-informed psychotherapists are grounded in relationship, nervous system awareness, and a deeper understanding of the patterns that shape how you think, feel, and relate.
Whether you’re coming as an individual, a couple, a family, or a parent, we work collaboratively with you to create change that’s not just understood but felt.
Therapy for children & teens
Ages 7 to 17 | In person in Newmarket and Whitby | Virtual across Ontario
Some kids can tell you what’s wrong. Many can’t. What you get instead is the behaviour — and behaviour is easy to misread from the outside.
Who we love working with:
The kid who doesn't know what they're feeling.
The kid with feelings too big to hold.
The teen who's anxious, low, or acting on urges they don’t understand.
The perfectionist who's harder on herself than anyone else would ever be.
The athlete stuck in their own head.
The kid whose friendships have become the hardest part of the day.
The young person who's changed how they eat because of how they feel about their body.
The kid grieving a loss, a separation, a move, or a family that looks different now.
If you recognized your child in more than one of those, that’s normal. They often overlap
Our approach
We don’t just talk it through and hand over a list of coping skills. We help kids understand what they’re feeling and where it’s coming from, then help them feel brave enough to try something different. Confidence comes from actually doing hard things, not just being told they’re capable of them.
We also work with parents too. Not because you’re the problem, but because you’re the support system, and kids move further when their people are in it with them.

Life gets complicated. Maybe you’re functioning well on the surface and falling apart underneath it. Maybe you’re barely holding on. Maybe your body reacts before your brain gets a say. Maybe you’ve done therapy before, and you understand your own patterns completely, and you still can’t stop them.
Whatever it is, we’re here for it.
You don’t have to be in crisis, and you don’t need the answers before you start. A hard season counts. A new job counts. A relationship that’s become complicated counts.
Therapy is a process of working it out together — specific to you, your body, and your nervous system. Not just uncovering the patterns that keep you stuck, but rewriting the stories underneath them.
Our approach
Therapy usually means talking it out, solving the problem, going home. That’s not how we work. We’re somatic, nervous-system informed, and trauma-informed. We look at the patterns keeping you stuck, not just the situation you’re struggling with right now.
The work is exploring and re-patterning your beliefs, your body, and the way your system reacts. So the next time it feels like your system has been hijacked and you’ve lost the ability to do things differently, there’s something else available to you allowing you to respond differently.
What we help with:
Anxiety
Stress & Burnout
Grief
Trauma & PTSD
Relationship Struggles
Emotional Regulation
Confidence & Self-Esteem
Life Transitions
Depression
Inner Child Work
Eating Disorders
Body Image
How we work:
Emotion-Focused Therapy for the feeling underneath the coping.
IFS and parts work, because the part that pushes and the part that shuts down are both protecting something.
EMDR for trauma you don’t want to narrate again.
Somatic and nervous-system approaches for what your body is doing while your mind explains.
DBT, one-to-one and in group.
ACT and CBT for anxious thinking.
Art and recreation therapy for rebuilding a relationship with movement and creativity that isn’t punishment.
Therapy for families, parents & caregivers
In person in Newmarket and Whitby | Virtual anywhere in Ontario
You’ve always felt like a “good” parent. Now you’re in a season where nothing you’re doing is working.
Maybe there’s a new diagnosis, whether it’s ADHD, an eating disorder, or something you’re still learning the language for. Maybe they’re just older, and the kid you knew how to parent isn’t the one in front of you anymore.
You don’t know what to say. So you say nothing, or you say the “wrong thing”, and it goes badly.
If any of this sounds familiar, we are your people.
How we work
Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), emotion-focused caregiver coaching, and Family-Based Therapy (FBT) where a young person has an eating disorder.
Emotion-Focused Family Therapy is the CORE OF WHAT WE DO here, and it’s practical work:
Staying deeply connected to your kid while holding structure, boundaries, and limits.
Communicating in a way that’s warm and grounded, so you can show up how you want to without folding on the things that matter to you.
Repairing ruptures. Even the old ones. Even after a long stretch of hurt.
The goal isn’t a perfect family. It’s understanding each other well enough to get back to the things you’re already good at together. And you don’t need the person you’re worried about to agree to therapy before you start.
Therapy for couples

Relationships can be challenging. Not black and white, however much we’d like them to be.
Most couples come to us after a long stretch of not being understood, or not being able to reach each other. Some come before that, wanting to keep it from getting there. You might not be in crisis at all. You might have simply become very good at logistics and not great at being with each other.
Couples therapy here isn’t two people sitting in a room fighting with someone else refereeing. It’s learning to communicate, to actually hear each other, and to belong to each other once again. It’s rebuilding enough safety that the relationship becomes somewhere you can both live peacefully.
How we work
Emotionally Focused Therapy (Sue Johnson’s model) and the Gottman Method, alongside DBT and ACT skills, inner child and trauma work, and practical nervous-system tools for the moments it escalates faster than either of you can think.
Low-Cost THERAPY
Cost shouldn’t decide whether you get support.
Our Psychology Intern Eve Chapnik and Psychotherapist (Qualifying) Emma Hendry-Dickie currently offer pro bono and reduced-rate sessions, supervised by our senior clinical team.
If you’ve wanted to start but finances have been holding you back, this is a real door.

How do I know who to book with?
Each clinician’s bio lists their specialties and whether they’re currently accepting new clients.
Or book a free call and we’ll help you match.
How do I get started?
Book a free 15-minute discovery call. It’s a conversation, not an intake. No commitment required.
Where are you located?
Our main clinic is at 1100 Gorham Street, Unit 12, Newmarket, ON. We also have a Durham Region location at 519 Dundas Street East, Suite 203, Whitby, ON. Virtual sessions are available province-wide.
Do you offer virtual therapy across Ontario?
Yes. Sessions are available securely online to anyone in Ontario. In person, we see clients from Newmarket, Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Bradford, Richmond Hill, Whitby, and surrounding areas.
Is therapy covered by OHIP?
Therapy is not covered by OHIP. Most extended health plans reimburse care provided by a Registered Social Worker or Registered Psychotherapist. We provide receipts you can submit to your insurer.
What if I've tried therapy before and it didn't help?
That’s one of the most common things we hear, and a big part of why this clinic exists. It usually means the approach wasn’t the right fit — not that you’re beyond help. Tell us on your discovery call what didn’t work and we’ll be honest about whether we’re a better match.
Looking for something different?
In addition to trauma-informed mental health services, we also offer a range of holistic healing modalities and emerging approaches — like Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy — that support your desire for deep change.
