Megan Firth, RD, MPH
Registered Dietitian
I am a Registered Dietitian with over ten years of experience supporting individuals struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, and chronic dieting. I specialize in women’s health and weight-inclusive care, and work with clients to move away from diet culture and rebuild a trusting, sustainable relationship with food. I also work closely with those managing chronic illness, food sensitivities, and digestive challenges who have been pulled deep into diet culture, guiding them toward a more compassionate and balanced approach to nourishment and wellbeing.
I offer individual and family nutrition counselling through both virtual and in-person sessions.
During our work together, you can expect to begin with a comprehensive assessment of your health and nutrition history, along with space for you to share your personal journey with food. We may explore digestion, physical symptoms, and your food environment to better understand the factors influencing your relationship with food. Conversations about weight are always optional and guided by you.
Together, we’ll set self-directed goals based on your values, supported by evidence-based nutrition practice, while respecting your autonomy and lived experience.
With your consent, I can also collaborate with other members of your healthcare team to support a coordinated approach to your care.

Kinga Balogh, RD
Registered Dietitian and Health Coach
Hi, I’m Kinga! I’m a Registered Dietitian and Health Coach specializing in eating disorders, hormonal imbalances, and digestive challenges. I’m passionate about helping my clients develop a trusting relationship with food, engage in intuitive eating and movement habits, and achieve body acceptance. I support clients in cultivating a holistic self-care practice rooted in self-compassion and self-acceptance to anchor their healing journey.
I provide disordered eating and eating disorder care in the following areas: Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Orthorexia, ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), OSFED (Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder), RED-S (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport), Body Dysmorphic Disorder, Emetophobia (fear of vomiting disorder), and Emotional Eating.
My approach to eating disorder care is evidence-based, compassionate, and holistic. I also provide advocacy for higher levels of care, such as medical monitoring, as well as care navigation with private or OHIP-covered service providers.
For chronic disease prevention and management, I offer targeted lifestyle coaching to help clients manage their blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure.
I also provide pregnancy and postpartum support. Women with a history of eating disorders may experience fertility issues or the resurfacing of eating and body-image struggles during pregnancy or the postpartum period. I encourage women hoping for a joyful pregnancy, healthy babies, and a smooth transition into motherhood to seek professional guidance.

Frequently asked questions
What is nutritional counselling and how is it different from seeing a nutritionist?
Nutritional counselling at Healing Recovery Centre is provided by registered dietitians—regulated health professionals with advanced clinical training in nutrition science, eating disorders, and medical nutrition therapy. Unlike nutritionists, whose title is unregulated in Ontario, registered dietitians are governed by a professional college and held to strict ethical and clinical standards. That means you’re getting evidence-informed care, not generic advice.
Do I need a referral to see a registered dietitian at Healing Recovery Centre?
No referral is needed. You can book a free consultation directly through our website to connect with our team and understand whether our registered dietitian services are the right fit for you. We welcome self-referrals as well as referrals from physicians, therapists, and other healthcare providers.
Do I need to have an eating disorder to work with a dietitian at HRC?
No. You don’t need a diagnosis to benefit from nutrition counselling. We work with individuals navigating disordered eating, chronic dieting, medical concerns, or simply wanting a more peaceful and sustainable relationship with food and their body.
Do you work with men?
Yes. We support individuals of all genders and ages, including men/boys, in developing a healthier, more grounded relationship with food, body, and overall well-being.
How is nutritional counselling different from eating disorder treatment?
Nutritional counselling with our registered dietitians focuses on your individual relationship with food, body image, and eating patterns. This can include support for disordered eating, chronic dieting, ARFID, and medical or metabolic concerns like diabetes.
Eating disorder treatment often involves a more interdisciplinary approach, where therapists, dietitians, and other practitioners work together to support you from multiple angles. That said, it doesn’t always have to start that way.
For some individuals, working with a registered dietitian alone can be a meaningful and effective entry point into healing—especially if food feels like the most immediate or accessible place to begin.
If you’re unsure what level of support is right for you, our free consultation can help you explore your options and find a starting point that feels manageable and aligned.
How do I know if I should work with a dietitian or a therapist?
Both dietitians and therapists play important—but different—roles in supporting your relationship with food and your body.
Working with a registered dietitian (RD) focuses specifically on your relationship and patterns with food, eating patterns, and nutritional needs. This includes helping you make sense of conflicting nutrition information, rebuild trust with your body, and develop a way of eating that feels sustainable, flexible, and supportive of your health and daily life. Dietitians also provide guidance for medical and physiological concerns such as digestion, blood sugar regulation, ARFID, and nourishment during different life stages like pregnancy or postpartum.
Working with a therapist, on the other hand, focuses more deeply on the emotional, relational, and psychological aspects of your experience—such as anxiety, trauma, identity, coping patterns, and the underlying drivers of disordered eating.
At Healing Recovery Centre, these roles often complement each other. However, you don’t have to start with both.
Many people begin with a dietitian when food feels like the most immediate or overwhelming concern.
If you’re unsure, our team can help guide you toward the support that best fits your needs.
Do you provide nutrition consultations (one-time or short-term support)?
Yes. We offer both one-time and short-term nutrition consultations. This can be helpful for individuals looking for focused support, as well as for practitioners, coaches, or medical providers seeking consultation around complex eating or nutrition-related concerns.
Not sure where to start?
Let’s talk.
If you have questions about our services or you simply want to start with a conversation, we’d love to connect with you. No matter what challenges you’re currently facing, there is always a way through. We’re here to help.
